Direct Support Professional - $22/hr + overtime eligible

We are offering a $3,250 sign-on bonus ($1,625 upon hire and $1,625 after 6 months of employment) to hired Full Time candidates.

Pay: $21-$22 per hour (Pay based on experience and MAP Certification.)

The NEEDS Center is a non-profit company dedicated to supporting adults with autism and other developmental disabilities. We are currently hiring 6 Direct Care Support Professionals. In this role, you'll support adults with disabilities in daily living, helping them build independence and improve their quality of life. No experience is necessary. As a new employee, you are provided with a paid 7-day Orientation and will receive training on CPR/First Aid, Safety Care, and Medication Administration Program (MAP). You will also receive program-specific training at your work site.

Full-time and Part-time positions available in our residential home in:

  • Orleans: These positions are primarily either second shift, overnights, and/or weekends at one of our group residence homes.
  • Sandwich: These positions are primarily either second shift, overnights, and/or weekends at one of our group residence homes.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting and supporting individuals with developmental disabilities with daily living skills, personal care, hygiene, meal prep, and medication.
  • Support individuals in making independent decisions and participating in valued community roles.
  • Performing light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe environment, including cleaning common areas and ensuring personal spaces are tidy.
  • Monitor health signs and observe for behavioral changes
  • Observe and record data for programs established in their Individual and Behavior support plans.
  • Participate with other team members to create a therapeutic environment that includes participating and supporting individuals at community events.
  • Administer medications or support individuals in self-medication (if you have MAP certification).

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent REQUIRED (Bachelor's degree preferred, but not necessary)
  • Valid Drivers License and good driving record
  • Experience with behavior management preferred (but not necessary)
  • Ability and willingness to provide hands-on personal care to adults with developmental disabilities.
  • Empathy and a passion for supporting individuals with autism.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in both verbal and written form.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a diverse team.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and remain alert during shifts.
